Parimal M Rana, B.Sc., CFS
Parimal has over 20 years working in the food manufacturing industry. He has worked with several food companies specializing in Operations and Food Safety. He has led QA teams, both as senior staff member and as consultant, in many food companies, in Canada and the US, and has headed up multiple QA initiatives to successfully become third party food safety certified under the Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. Parima’sl many years of experience in the food processing industry in multiple functions enables him to bring insight and experience to build a variety of strong multi-functional teams.
In addition to his work in the food industry Parimal is in partnership as business owner of a very successful and award-winning retail florist, Flower Factory. This Vancouver-based florist has been part of the community since 1996 and has won the Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver Readers’ Choice award for many of the 21 years the business has been in operations. His ownership in a long-standing retail operation provides Parimal with a retail and business owners’ perspective that enables him to better serve his consulting clients.
Parimal was awarded the Food Safety and Quality Award from the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST). Parimal has been recognized for this volunteer work with the University of British Columbia’s Food Sciences Department’s Tri-mentoring program and was recognized as Mentor of the Year in 2009.
